Mr. Kuk Yi is the founding managing partner of Best Buy Capital, the minority investment team of Best Buy, the leading global retailer of consumer technology products and services. He is responsible for all investment activities to create a portfolio of opportunities for Best Buy’s growth while encouraging the adoption of new technologies, solutions and services for the consumer technology ecosystem.

Mr. Kuk Yi is currently serving as a corporate vice president of Best Buy and Managing Partner of Best Buy Capital, the investment group for Best Buy, where he is responsible for investments via CORE Fund (with ties to our current businesses) and ALPHA Fund (autonomous investments in consumer technology related opportunities).

Mr. Kuk Yi was also a founding member of Best Buy’s Corporate Development Team when he joined in 2004, and was responsible for supporting strategic transactions, including acquisitions and investments. Prior to Best Buy, Mr. Kuk Yi was based in Korea as a Senior Investment Manager at Samsung, and a Senior Associate at ABN AMRO Capital. Mr. Kuk Yi has a BSc from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
