Mr. Hak Cheol (H.C.) ShinExecutive Vice President, Industrial and Transportation Business, 3M

Mr. Hak Cheol (H.C.) Shin has been Executive Vice President-Industrial and Transportation Business of 3M Company, St. Paul, Minnesota, a diversified technology company, with product lines in the consumer and office, health care, electronics, industrial, graphics, transportation, safety and telecommunications markets, since January 2006.
Mr. Shin was born in Chungju, South Korea in 1957 and graduated from Chungju High School in 1975. After graduating from Seoul National University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1979, Mr. Shin worked for Poongsan Metal Corporation from 1979 to 1984. In 1984, he joined 3M Korea, and later served as President of 3M Philippines in 1994. Three years after, he moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where 3M headquarter is located. There he served as Vice President in Abrasives division in 2001 and in Electronics Materials Division in 2003.
In 2005, he was appointed as Executive Vice President of Industrial Business, and since 2006, he has served as Executive Vice President of Industrial and Transportation Business. Also, since 2008 Mr. Shin has been a board member of Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), a $15 Billion public utility company based in New Jersey. In 2009. in honor of his contribution to South Korea’s international economy, Mr. Shin received a national presidential award from President Lee of the Republic of Korea.
